New Build Snagging Survey

If you're buying a brand new home then you expect it to be immaculate when you move in, unfortunately this is not always the case.

A New Build Snagging Survey is designed to highlight problems the the developer should fix quickly, ideally before you move in.

It’s important to note that this is NOT a RICS Level 2 or 3 Home Survey where a surveyor would inspect and comment on the cause of defects, maintenance items and detail the remedial works. A snagging list instead provides a record of any small defect or problem so they can be addressed.

Some of the most common problems we find are;

  • Poorly finished decoration.
  • Untidy brick pointing.
  • Loose pipe fittings.
  • Poorly installed doors and windows

The snagging survey should ideally be carried out between building work being finished and your legal completion date, so the developer has time to fix any snags before you move in.
